Growing research states gum disease negatively affects several systemic conditions including Heart disease and Alzheimers.

We care about your residents' health as well as our staff's health so O.C.A.'s (oral care aides) are trained in universal precaution infection control and wear adequate PPE.

Oral Care Aides carry necessary supplies to provide daily plaque removal. Aseptic technique is always followed and thus, plaque removal tools are all disposable.

CARE INCLUDES: Lighted visual assessment, plaque removal using an electric toothbrush, floss, antimicrobial rinse w/fluoride and interproximal cleaners.

Medically compromised people often present with conditions such as xerostomia( dry mouth), gingival recession (exposed roots) mucositis, lesions from ill fitting prosthetics, periodontitis and tooth decay. It is with these conditions in mind our OCA's provide assessment, debridement and plaque removal.

Part of every OCA’s training is the ongoing effects of dementia including the likelihood of Care Resistant Behavior. Techniques to reduce CRB will be utilized.
